Hair Testing
Hair testing offers a much longer history of drug exposure than urine testing. Head hair must be approx 1 ½ inches in length and covers 90 days. Body hair, at any length, will cover approx 12 mos. Hair testing is done as a standard 5 panel test, but if specifically requested, can be done as a 10 panel test. Head hair is cut at the scalp of the head and is testing the root end of the hair. Body hair is cut/shaven closets to the skin.
Nail Testing
Nail testing is the newest methodology for drug testing. Nail testing covers a time period of 30 days six months prior to the test. Nail testing is done as a standard 5 panel test, but if specifically requested, can be done as a 10 panel test. Fingernail clippings are the preferred method for this test, but if length does not allow, can be shaven in a safe and pain free sample collection.
